Critical Management Studies and Association of Business Historians conferences

I recently presented two papers at the Association of Business Historians Conference in Glasgow (one co-authored with Kevin Tennent and Andrew Smith) and one at the Critical Management Studies Conference in Liverpool.  Both conferences revealed considerable depth and breadth when it comes to critiquing the role of business and capital in society.  What is particularly noteworthy is the fact that much of this work emanates from scholars working in business schools in the United Kingdom and continental Europe.  There was a strong contingent of scholars and graduate students from business schools in Atlantic Canada.  I do regret that similarly rigorous critiques of capital do not come from business school faculty elsewhere in Canada and the United States.  Here are conference links:
